Devesa Park tests safety system for two-wheeled vehicles
Devesa Park, in Famalicão, is testing a new system that aims to make cycling, scooters and other two-wheeled vehicles safer.
This is the SAFOOS project, which will be in the testing phase over the next few months, with five posts already installed.
This system works through warning lights, which indicate to road users whether it is safe to travel (green light), whether there is imminent risk (yellow light) or whether there is danger or possibility of collision (red light).
With the mobile app, users can also track their route and check information such as air quality, allowing them to choose safer and healthier routes.
This innovation was developed by CENTI – Centre for Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials, in Famalicão, as part of the Mobilising Agenda for Business Innovation in the Two-Wheel Sector, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) and the European Union's Next Generation EU.
